These instructions are for configuring a Cisco 1130 or 1200 series wireless access point. These
instructions are for configuring a Cisco 1130 or 1200 as a replacement unit for an existing Cisco
1130 or 1200 that has been previously installed and now needs replacement due to a hardware
failure,etc. Cisco 350 failures-use a Cisco 1130 or 1200 as the replacement. The replacement
access points are located in the parts room and are labeled.
Before the access point can be configured you will need to connect the Access Point to the
network. Two standard RJ-45 patch cables are required. One RJ-45 cable connects from injector
to Access Point and the other RJ-45 cable connects from power injector to the network. You
will also need a serial connection configured for 9600-8-none-1. The power injector and serial
cable for the Cisco 1130 are included in the box with replacement AP. The access points are
configured to defaults and will DHCP an IP address upon power up. The operating system on
the Cisco access points-CISCO IOS.
- Connect PC to the serial port on Cisco 350 with provided cable. At the command prompt type:show arp.
Record the ip address.
- Browse to this ip address with Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc.
- Left double Click-System Software. Cisco IOS Software,
C1130 Software (C1130-K9W7-M), Version 12.4(10b)JA,RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

- Telnet to this ip address.
- Default login/password is Cisco and Cisco.
- Login to: Network Tools Database(aka Keith's Database).
- Double left click on: Wireless Access Points then left click: View All Wireless Access Points

- Scroll down until you find the Access Point that needs to be replaced. Left click: View/Edit.

- Record the serial number and hardware address from the back of the Cisco 1130 in the appropriate
area's on the form and left click: Submit Info Update

- Right click and Select ALL then right click Copy. Open Notepad or other text editor and
paste this information into a new document and save as a text file.
- Connect PC to the serial port on Cisco 350 with provided cable. At the command prompt type:show arp.
Record the ip address.
- Browse to this ip address with Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc.
- Default login/password is Cisco and Cisco.
- Left double Click-System Software. Verify system and bootloader software are same as below.
If it is not correct version you will need to upgrade Access Point software.

- Click-System Configuration
- Left click-Browse and select the text file created in step 7 then left click on-Load.
This will load the configuration for this AP. Pop-ups need to be disabled or configuration
file will not be loaded.
- The Access Point will restart after it has finished loading configuration file. Connect PC
to the serial connection of Access Point. At the command prompt-Login with standard netops
username/password-at command prompt type-show arp to verify the IP address is the IP
address of Access Point you are replacing.
- Access Point is now ready for Installation.
