I. Connection Question: What are you facing now that requires your courage?

II. Corrections to minutes from last meeting on June 25, 2007?

III. Old Business:

• Impending Cluster rollout and retirement
  • Elder ready for rollout on ??
  • Athena retirement - with HPC bootcamp, how about August 21?
    
• Tim/RCS staff will do review of other institutions queuing and cluster purchase programs in preperation for public forum on queuing policies. (by August xx?)
  
• Linux Clusters: Birch, Cedar, Dogwood - any issues, concerns or upcoming updates/changes?
  • Cluster upgrades this summer, depending on when next version of ROCKS released (RHEL 5 out) otherwise fall break.
• Retiring/removing Sun Ultra60s from E225. Emailed Lloyd Harriott, EE Chair and Mitch. Proposed Aug 15 removal.
• VT-UVa IT Collaboration. HPC Bootcamp Aug 7-10; 13-16.
  • Need to reserve nodes for quick turn around queues on all three clusters .
  • August 16 field trip to VT for visualization facilities tour - invite other UVa folk (e.g., Bernie Fischer, Dean Abernathy?)
    

IV. New Business:

• Retiring aix.license and solaris.license. Update; date announced? ITC-Transistions CDP notified?
• Oak cluster upgrade - testing applications under Solaris 10. Update.
• Any news, information from E-School? SURA? Other organizations?
• Any other Items?
• Completion and review promises and requests from this meeting.
